Owing to the success in attracting younger athletes, yet the difficulty of finding sufficient coaches, please note that we have had to introduce a waiting list of athletes of primary school age. Please telephone one of the contacts above for more information.
This is the club's main training session. For the summer of 2013 (with effect from 9/4/13) the Thursday evening training session are held starting from King Alfred's Academy West Site starting at 7:00pm. These sessions are also supervised by the club coaches. For senior athletes there is the option of longer run, typically an hour. We also try to provide a shorter run more suitable for beginners. Contact either the club Chairman, Gareth Smith on 01235 767538 or the Club Secretary, Dene Stringfellow on 01235 868111 or by email. (Note - our winter training meets at Wantage Leisure Centre - We will start winter sessions there some time around September.)
For senior athletes there is a more structured training session once per month led by Paul Jegou. The dark nights restrict the options available - but there are still a good number of possibilities. As before we will meet at the usual venue (now the leisure centre) at 7:00pm - just as for any other Thursday evening training session. For those who have not attended before these have been a variety of sessions including hill runs, interval/repetition runs and fartlek. The dates of these sessions are listed below. These have generally selected to avoid a club fixture the following weekend (although this was not always possible).
