Welcome
to this fourth edition of “The Harrier Bite-Sized” which is intended to keep
you informed of forthcoming events. This edition runs to two sides – maybe it
is a chewable version? Gareth

Summer Social. Friday 9th
June. 7.30pm. Letcombe Bassett.
This
year’s summer social, will again be held at Letcombe Bassett village hall. This
is situated on left at the bottom of the road up Gramp’s Hill. During the
evening the trophies from the last Cross-Country season will be presented.
As
usual we ask you to bring some food to share for the buffet. This can be
whatever you choose – somehow this always works out well and we have never yet
all brought the same sort of thing. Drinks will be provided. The result is an
enjoyable evening with good food and we hope to see lots of you there. There is
no charge for this event, although a raffle will be held to offset the costs
(donations of raffle prizes welcome).
Summer Barbecue. Saturday 8th
July at
We
are again invited to a Barbecue hosted by Elaine and Mike Kerswell in the
garden of their house at Rowstock (The Timbers, Rowstock Corner). There is a
charge for this of £5 for adults or £2.50 for under 18s. Please inform me, Gareth
Smith, on 01235 767538 if you would like to attend. Cheques can be sent to me

Come
along and enjoy a relaxed evening in very attractive surroundings. Unlike some
of our other events we don’t ask for you to bring any drinks or food to this –
all is provided in the cost. In order for us to be able to give Mike a good
idea of numbers, please can you let me know by 1st July if you are
coming.
White Horse Half
Many thanks to all those
who helped with this year’s half marathon race which was a great success. With
491 finishers this was the biggest ever White Horse Half Marathon and we have
received many notes of thanks with nice comments on a friendly, well organized
race. Particular thanks to Nick Ponting for sponsoring the event and
Young Athletes
The
regular Thursday evening training sessions are going well. However, with the
large number of youngsters turning up each week additional help is needed. Please
speak with Angela or Tom at one of the sessions if you could help. This help
does not have to be every week – occasional help would also be welcome. In
addition, courses are run in the
